The Day has Arrived

The day has arrived
how glorious it looks
so gentle
fresh and new

a light so perfect
for the eyes
closed in need of rejuvenatory sleep

so much perfection
surrounds us

the orchestra of birds
has begun
nothing imposes it's energy
they all caress and support

we can learn much
from nature
so humble her approach

she gets on
with her purpose
nothing appears to distract

again
so much to learn
in our rambunctious
human ways

trying to control
the outcome of all
rule with power
over the Earth

what we crave
we're ignorant
we want to feel complete

but no amount
of accumulated 'stuff'
will ever sooth the soul

the Earth
the most precious gift
given for us
to exist

whilst we realize
why we are here

to know true love
in our hearts

so yes the clock is ticking
like sand - it sifts away
the gift of life
for such a short time

what will I do
with mine
